Avoid the Vibe by the way. If you can swing for new, the new Ford Fiesta or Mazda 2 are well built, affordable, fun to drive gas zippers. If you are looking for a great used deal you can pick up a Saturn Astra dirt cheap since GM killed the brand. They are sporty and fun to drive, they are really German Opel Astras with a Saturn grill.
